Hana studio | Unable to add system

Hi,

I have just installed SAP Hana studio on my Windows7 laptop and now I am trying to add a system using the Hostname and instance which I have received from SAP. But when I click add system and enter the details I am getting the error as "The hostname 'hanasvr-01' is unknown".

Please advise.

I am following the below steps Launch Hana Studio > Go to administrative console > Right click on Navigation Pane and create a folder > Right again and choose Select system. Once I type the details I keep getting the same error.

Hi - Try to ping the hostname from command prompt as "ping hanasvr-01" it should resolve to some ip if the host is reachable. Also try to add host ip address to resolve. I think you are no in the same network and the host is not reachable. Bye.

      Hi Shwetha,

Access to the sandbox servers hanasvr-xx is not possible from public internet but only via the Cloudshare desktops we setup as part of the trial. So you will not be able to connect to hanasvr-01 from your laptop. We had to take these network security measure to ensure system availability and protect the data you and all the other trial users load into your tables.

You can create your own personal How to create a SAP HANA Developer Edition in the cloud and use the downloaded HANA Studio to connect to it - as it's your personal instance, you will be responsible for making the access as secure as you need it (e.g. only allow access from your home or work network's IP range)
