Solution Manager compatibility with SAP R/3 4.7

Hi All,

We have SAP R/3 4.7 installed and running from 2005. We are planning to install the SAP Solution Manager 7.1 in our landscape for EWA, Servicedesk..etc.

Please suggest us whether SAP SM 7.1 will support R/3 4.7 for EWA and other configurations also. If supports kindly tell us what are the prerequisites.

Hi,

Check SAP Note 1010428 for the managed system release supported by various Solution Manager releases. Yours being SAP R/3 4.7 should be well supported by SolMan 7.1

We have 2 Production R/3 4.7 systems connected to our SolMan 7.1 SP04 and functioning fine.

Hi Shrikanth,

Yes, As per my understanding SOLMAN doesnot provide release specific support. You need to verify if basic prerequisites should meet so that solman system can communicate to the satelite system.

Basis pre-requsite to configure EWA are:

1.You need an RFC connection between your satelite system and solman system.

2. Please make sure that required tools for service session ( ST-PI and ST-A/PI) are installed at your satelite system.

In short if with Solman 7.1 release once you complete the "Managed System Configuration" for your satelite system, after the installation of your solution manager system, basis configuration for EWA itself gets completed.

To be more specific, SAP Note 1010428 mentions what is the minimum SP level required for your managed system setup release so that the corresponding SolMan release capability is supported for your managed system.
