Protocol cannot be switched to HTTPS - Remove warning from Login screen

Hello,

When logging in to the Java front-end, I get an error stating that the "Protocol cannot be switched to HTTPS"

and that no switch to HTTPS can occur.

Is there a way to hide this warning from showing? As I have no need right now to start the protocol.

Thank you.

    Hi Moyorline,

To hide these, you can follow as below:

Go to Transaction code SICF->Open the node corresponding to your application (example NWBC)

->Go to 'Error Pages' tab->Now go to 'Logon Error' tab->Click on 'Configuration' button

->You can check 'Do not Display warnings' checkbox under 'Action during Protocal' (for Switch to HTTPS)

    regards,

    Rajeshwari

    Hi Moyorline,

There are three ways to get this issue resolved.

    1) Follow SAP note 510007 to enable the HTTPS.

Follow the path (as recommended) , there are two ways there-

Execute transaction code SICF -> navigate to the web dynpro ABAP node "your appliation ", then: "Error Pages" tab -> "Logon Errors" -> "System Logon" radio button -> "Configuration" button. In the "Actions During Logon" section, the dropdown box "Protocol" should have value "Logon via HTTPS".

    2) Change the protocol to "Do Not Switch"

    3) Select "Do Not Display Warnings".

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Moyorline,

In addition to the above responses please also refer to SAP Note:- 354819.

Can you please ensure that the port you want to use for HTTPS is not used on that machine by any other service?

Also make sure that SSL is correctly set up on your WebAS as described in the following SAP Note 510007.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Mayorline,

As a default configuration, all the Web Dynpro ABAP applications will initially try switching protocols from HTTP to HTTPS at the onset.

So, basically the SAP Web Application Server ABAP needs Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to be set on it with the help of SAP note510007.

    Kind Regards,
