I was getting the same error after upgrading to SP04 and got it resolved by installing RESTFUL webservices.

If you are having trouble following solution mentioned in above thread. Here's OSS note: 1733865 ( How to enable RESTful Web Services, Insight to Action Service & Multitenancy Manager with SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (BI) platform 4.0 Support Package 4 ) which provides detailed step by step instructions..

Within the client tools patch there should be an install for the Xcelsius SP04 patch.  Did you also upgrade your client machine with this?  The server and client would need to be on the same patch level in order to communicate properly.

Also, what is your exact workflow in getting this error?  When you say "Dashboards" i'm assuming you're referring to the new application name for "Xcelsius"?  Are you simply creating a .swf and saving back to BI4?

you need to install restful webservices by modifying your main installation.

Joshua,

> Yes that is Xcelsius new name [ Dashboards ] with SP4.

> I have BO sp4 client tools and Xcelsius sp4 installed on my client machine.

> When i am connecting to BO server through Query Browser, I  am getting this error.

>  when I was selecting the universe from query Browser, it asks us  login to BO server to retrieve the universe list. After giving the credentials, it is throwing the above error.

  1. Log on CMC > Application, and check if the Restful Web Services and Web services applications are listed.
  2. Make sure the user doing the 'save-as' for the dashboard has full access right to Web service application and Restful Web Services.

If these 2 aren't listed, then you don't have them installed on your BI4 server.  (see attached screenshot).  If you're missing these from your list, do a modify install on SP4 to have this functionality added to BI4.
