Running Solution Manager 7.1 and ECC 6.0 on same host

Hello experts,

I'm facing the following problem:

I have installed Solution Manager 7.1 and SAP ECC 6.0 on the same virtual host with windows server 2008 R2 and MaxDB 7.8 Build 21 (64 Bit, 16GB RAM).

Now I'm having the problem, whne starting on instance I can't start the oter one. The WP's don't even start and give back any informations in the work-directory...

Does anybody know what might be the problem?

I didn't find any helpful notes either.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards

Lu Huynh

Hello Lu Huynh,

First of all please stop both systems, restart their SAP Start Services (named SAP<SID>_<NR>) and start the systems again. If it won't start, please attach these files:

-  sapstart.log, dev_disp, dev_w0 from the work folder on nonstarting instance

Hello Adam,

thanks for your quick reply!

What you suggested I have tried several times without success 😕

When I start the ECC first Solution Manager (ABAP part) won't start, and whne I start Solution Manager first ECC (only ABAP) doesn't start. I have attached the files you asked for.

In this case I started ECC instance. So you will find the logs from Solution Manager work-directory. The dev_w0 won't be helpful, because during start sequence no logs have been written to the file.

Kind regards

Hello Lu,

The error is following (see in dev_disp):

*** ERROR => <EsNT> CreateFileMapping name=Global\ES_SEG_01_005 ,size=2044 MB, error=1455 [esnti.c      1276]

Meaning of error code 1455:

The paging file is too small for this operation to complete.

Increase (double) the size of pagefile and start the sytem.

Hi,

I would suspect, it's memory issue. Please run sappfpar command against all ECC and Solman profiles and correct Errors and give a try to restart servers.

Thanks,
