BOM Secrecy in SAP

Hi,

How to maintain BOM Secrecy in SAP? The BOM componets of the Finished Material should not be visible to anyone.

Regards,

Pragalathan

    Hi Pragalathan,

If you do not want BOM items display to users, then do not give authorization to them for CS03/CS11/CS12/CS13/CS14/CS15.

If you do not want to give authorization only for finish material, then do not authorize for the material type display in these transactions for the users with the help of Basis.

And if you want then to log in to the BOM of this material, but do not allow them to see the BOM components only, then use the screen variants and provide authorization to that screen variant to those user ids.

And if you want more authorization objects then use BOM user exits and check with ABAP to fulfill your requirement and activate authorization for those developments with the help of BASIS.

    Best regards,

    Sharat

    Hi Pragalathan,

Ask your BASIS person, donot give authorization for BOM create, change or display view?

Do you want this to be kept secret for viewing also?

In Production Order, in master data tab - you can see this master data.

And also at the time of confirmation, system proposes corresponding values.

    Hello Pragalathan,

In CS02 you will find an option- Configuration at extreme right top end of the BOM table/items.

There you can do the setting and can hide columns in BOM. Again this will be applicable only for BOM.

Check if this can satisfy your requirement.

Further if you want to hide it @ other places like in Production Order components tab then you need to work out it with some other way around like exit/enhancement.

    Hope this will help..

    Regards,

    Anup
