Hello all
i'm trying to change the branding image of the portal. in the themes..branding image..but it is showing in masthhead... i want to replace the branding image by our company logo...
can anybody explain me
regards
pradeep
Hi Pradeep,
For changing the Branding image there are two ways
1. U can edit the theme change the branding image there and apply that theme.
For that U need to go to
System Administration -> Portal Display -> Theme editor.
give the new branding image path there. and apply that theme.
The other way is:
Download the par file ie com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par from the server.
Import it to your netweaver developer studio.
Also extract the par file...
You can find two jar files one in private folder and other in lib folder.
com.sap.portal.navigation.masterhead_core.jar and
com.sap.portal.navigation.masterhead_api.jar respectivily.
add that to the same folder in your NWDS.
Add the branding image in dist -> image
Then open the HeaderiView.jsp file Add ur Image src there.
Redeploy the Application...
Hope it works

Anish

Hello Pradeep,
You need to customize the logon page? Its a jsp page created using JSP. What you have to do is to import the this par file com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par to your NWDS and edit the JSP.
you can find this file from \usr\sap\<instance>\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd.
Rename this file and do the editting.
after modifiction deploy it and do the following settings in server.
launch config tool...browse the tree
cluster_data>>server>>persistent>>com.sap.security.core.ume.service.
select authnschemes.xml..
Download authschemes_productive.xml and open it
replace all the occurance of com.sap.portal.runtime.logon to the name of your project.
Come back to configtool and create a node below com.sap.security.core.ume.service
choose file entry and upload ur authschemes_productive.xml
create and close the window
Navigate to cluster_data>>server>>cfg>>services
double click propertysheet com.sap.security.core.ume.service
Click property for login.authschemes.defiition.file
Enter the authschemes_productive.xml
Apply custom and restart portal
Thats it .. it should work

I am also trying the same thin. Let me know, if you are able to do it. Since I am facing a problem. Some thing is missing.
Thanks and Regards

Srinivasa Rao GV has the direct, easiest approach.
As an aside...an anecdote told by Jose Martinez, my portal cert. instructor....a client was going live with the portal and complained of performance issues....no one could login and the whole thing seemed incredibly slow...they checked it out and come to find out, the client had repleced the login image with a 10Mb bitmap image!!! Soooooo when all the users went to login, everyone was trying to pull that image "over the wire"....haha.

Dear Pradeep,
In simple, search for the image file with the name "branding_image" in the usr folder. Replace that image file with your company logo file with the same name.
Restart the server which inturn will change the image of welcome page.
Best Regards,
Srinivas.

Hi Pradeep,
For getting image on the logon screen ie the welcome page.
You need to download com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par from the server.
U need to Import it in the NWDS.
Also extract the par file and take jar files and put it in private and lib folder respectively.
Add the image that u need to display in dist -> images
Check for umLogonPage.jsp in portal-inf -> jsp. edit it and add image where you want to display the image its just the same way as a jsp&html.
U can also play with it for different permutations.
Redeploy the application.
Restart Portal Server.
Hope it works
Thanx and Regards

Hi Pradeep,
to change logon image we need to modify the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak file
import this par file into nds.under the folder portal-inf->private->jsp there are a few standard jsps available.
edit the umlogonpage.jsp. here you can find an option for changing the link to image.
Then move the image to irj/root folder.
export your par file
then edit the authschemes.xml from usr/sap/<instance>/JC00/jeee/configtool
and replace. com.sap.runtime.logon name to your new par file name and change the authshceme.xml with a new file name and upload it again.
also i ve come acrosss changing logon image from sys admin->sys config->Um config->direct editing and changing value of ume.logon.branding.image.but haven't tried this out yet.
your logon image gets changed.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Uma.

Hi All,
I downloaded com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak, I renamed the file as my.new.logon.par and uploaded into portal, this process work ok, however I need to change the branding image so I imported the par file into NWDS and I did not change anything on purpose and I generated the par file from NWDS using the export option. When I uploaded again I'm getting an exception.
com.sapportals.portal.ume.component.logon.SAPMLogonComponent.
Exception id: 03:38_16/11/05_0004_4294151
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
So I dont know how can I change the par file in order to change the branding image and dont get an exception for that.
Thanks in advance
Alexis
