Hi,

I have done the SMTP configuration setttings for sending an mail from SAP to Outook.

It works fine. I can get the e-mail in Outook. but i cannot send an mail to external id's like xyz@gmail.com or xyz@hotmail.com.

SCOT Settings:

Defaullt Domain : abc.def.com

SMTP Settings:
Mail Host : 123.456.789.123

Mail Port  : 25

The above settings works only for sending an mail from SAP to Outlook, but i cannot send a mail to external id's.

I have followed the SAP Note : 455140.

How to solve the issue?

Thanks in advance

Vimal

Hello,

Which error mesage are you getting when send the mails? Is it 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay?

If so the mail server has refused to relay mail for you, this may be for any number of reasons but typical resons include:
(1) Sender domain not accepted by mail server.
(2) No internet connection supplied to mail server
(3) Authentication may be required to connect to this mail server.

This list is not exaustive but the problem is that your mail server will not accept mails from the SMTP Plug-in. You will have to contact your local mail support page of your mail server for additional help.

Hi Vimal,

This '550 5.7.1 Unable to relay' reply comes from the mailserver.

You need to verify with your mail admin/mail provider why this message is been blocked by the mail server.

It basically means that the mailserver does not know the address you are attempting to sent to, in other words the mailserver has no information as to where to route mails for this domain.

Please contact your email administrator and get them to ensure that the routing of mails from all the servers to the internet is allowed and your issue will be resolved.

Your mailserver was not configured to use Relay. Please take a look in the articles bellow explaining this case.

Hi Vimal,

My understanding of SCOT function is that we configure a exchange server from where all the mails sent from SAP are dispatched to recipients. So , I believe we need to check the settings on exchange server configured.
