use of priority field inside of status profile???

I want to know the use of priority inside of status profile can some one help me ???

Hi Vivek ,

The position field determines the position of the status in the list once it is set. Assume we have open statuses ( which doesnt have status number ) . We can set any number of opens statuses and they all will be displayed. So this position number field will determine where it listed after the status set.

Coming to priority it will come into picture when same position number is assigned for different statuses . depending upon the priority sequence the order in which statuses are displayed before setting will be controlled.

The status POSITION and PRIORITY fields determine which statuses are shown on the status line and in which order they are shown.

Hi Vishal ,

That's fine but I want to know even If i will not give any value for  priority then also it is taking 1 or 1

or even we assign also it is taking same value. That's why I am asking what is the use of it inside of transaction.
