Any ideas... why I'm able to login designer/deski from client machine with the system name as server "BO server Full name:6400 (J2EE Portal)" /"BOXI.pqr-bi.com:6400 (J2EE Portal)"
Where as Infoview/Cmc I can login seystem name "BO Server name:6400" / "BOXI:6400
What is this (J2EE Portal)" for..??/

After logging in when I try to import universe this is what the error message I see,

"Failed to initialize import/export dialog.
Previous Error: Failed to retrieve root universe folder. You may not have permission to view this folder."

J2EE portal represents 3-tier access.  That is, accessing the BIP system via a Java Application Server such as Tomcat.  This is not something that is relevant for InfoView/CMC because you the only option is to login via the application server.  Desktop Intelligence and Webi Rich Client both support 3-tier access hence the difference in appearance.

To resolve this error, please refer to SAP Notes 1563221 and 1318799 for possible resolutions.
