cannot reset dynamic visibility for components......

Hi All,

     I could not reset my dynamic visibility for my components in xcelsius. I have around 39 components in each screen, and i have 3 screens like wise. Initially when i designed my UI I set dynamic visibility for all components. As the business requirements changed, i am supposed to reset dynamic visibility for 39 components. Wen i try to change them by group, most of the component's dynamic visibility was not updated to the new requirement so when I tried to change them individual, they changed but wen i came back to the same component to check the behavior, the dynamic visibility was set for the previous requirement. the components I used where combo boxes. pl provide suggestions to fix this.

Arathy,

Try remapping the dynamic visibility 'status' and 'Key' cells once again. You don't have to add new components, just re-map the existing once to reflect the new changes, preview your dahsboard and then let us know. Thanks.

This prob happens in xcelsius often,u need to ungroup and map the componets again.

or else u need to replace it with new components...this error is because of excel cell mapping issue....for avoiding this the better way is to avoid xcelsius twice...

  I closed all instances of xcel running.. Ungrouped n set them finally back.. i works

Hi,

pls check the relationship of problamatic components. i mean, if one particular component does not help for Dynamic visbility, then other component which are related to this component also will get suffered. so first find the problematic component and then look the relationship.it is related to the requirement ..

Thanks,.. but these components have no dependent components at all.. All are individual components and are static(yet no functionality). I restarted the dashboard n even set back but no use .....

As long as the component mapping is simple and you have indentified your 39 components, I would prefer replacing them with new components and re mapping them. this saves lot of time and confusion. cos debugging a DV takes time. ofcourse if the formatting mentioned in the components are critical then acticipate for additional time for that too

     I can easily put new components, but think i have to remap totally 39*3 n align them n the rest is little its like doing the UI again.

just out of curiosity.. are there different DV set for each of the 39 components when you take a particular screen. and how are the 39 components from screen 1 linked to the other screens ?

i have 3 screens say X,Y,Z, initailly i had 42 components in each screen.Now the business requirement is the Z no need those 39 component , but what ever i select in screen Y(combo boxes-15, remaing all input boxes) n go to screen Z, i shld see all data selected in the combo boxes n all data entered in input boxes of Y, to be visible in Z, but shld not be editable in Z. I got an idea of not allowing users to edit in sceen z.. But wen i try to change the DN, example preciously DN was at D45, now i wanted in C43. but it doesnt change to the later.

Hi Arathi,

As said, try un-grouping the components and re-map the dynamic visibility of  components individually. That should work.
