Packing not allowed for Outbound delivery created with movement 551-E

Hi,

I want to scrap Sales order stock using MB1A and movement 551 E. The location I had selected is HU managed and in this case, as per standard SAP settings, any transaction using this storage location will create Delivery. (Not Material document).

I was trying to post Delivery PGI but because this location is HU managed, it is asking to enter HU. During HU creation/selection, it is not allowed to select the material. This material line in the bottom (Material to be packed) is coming in disable mode and i am not able to select it. Without selection, system wont allow HU creation and save. If I am trying to do it automatically, I am getting below message.

Message no. VHUPD026

No material to be packed found, or quantity to be packed equals zero

I checked material in Delivery header and it is not eligiblefor material packing.

Is there any setting for a particular movement type 551E to allow HU creation for delivery becaue doing normal delivery creation using 601, it is allowing HU creation and PGI?

the movement type is not relevant for packing , first what is your process ,

normally order created then delivery , here you will pack the material , what is your delivery type , and item category type , and also check the click GOODS MOVEMENT DATA tab , here what is the movement type , normally 551 e movement type not relevant for VL01N, check OMJJ 551 allowed transaction here vl01n not their , so do pack the material

Is it correct that 551 E is not relevant for packing because I am using it first time and not sure whether this will work or not.

The purpose is to scrap sales order stock using 551 E. The location I am using is HU managed and asking for HU during delivery. But I am not allowed to select material for which packing is required. may be the reason is this movement type. If I will use 601 it is creating immediately and working fine. In OMJJ, VL02N is allowed for 551.

551 it not relevant for delivery , please do not use , you can try the 601 .

Please check OVLP, OVLK for item category, delivery type. Here you will find movement type.

Thanks for your reply but I did not find movement type in any of the transaction except for 1 delivery type it is mentioned as X and another it is 0. I think it does not relate to HU.

In OVLP is your item category relevant for picking, check item category in 0VLP - you will find movement type in warehouse control & picking for an item category. If document category is X you dont find movement type field.

Movt type 551 is a transaction for scrapping inventory against a cost center. In a way, 261 is doing the same txn by moving inventory from stock to Process order. Can you able to do 551 E using migo?
