Customize Search in Portal 7.3

Hi,

We have a requirement to customize the Search functionality in our SAP Portal 7.3. We need to be able to search only specific folders in KM and also documents belonging to certain taxonomies. Also allow user to search for certain file types like jpgs, doc etc.

As I am new to this, would really appreciate any help in this regard.

Hi Ajay,

I suggest you familiarize yourself with the help guide regarding creating indexes in the portal: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/4c/52d3d1550235b9e10000000a42189c/frameset.htm

You can easily restrict the index to certain folders (when you create the index you choose the folders to index), I am not sure about restricting it to certain taxonomies... perhaps someone else can comment on that.

Hi Simon,

I was able to configure the search to restrict to a particular folder by using the index of the folder.

Any idea how I can display the classification of the document in the search results? Maybe some info on where this configuration will need to be done?

Also, what configuration should be done to make changes to the Advanced search screen?
