Central Contract Distribution using diff contract type

Dear SAP expert,

We are in SRM 7.01 with backend ECC 6.05. We plan to use central contract management scenario. We know that by standard, SAP deliver doc type 'CCTR' for this. However, is it possible for us to create a new doc type (let's say ZCTR) which can use the same scenario?
