How do i use SD11

I seem to be using SE11 to find out Masterdata and Text Tables for a given transactional table and then using SQV1 for finding different joins .

but SAP material repeatedly refers to the use of SD11 for data modelling .

Can any one provide guidance using SD11 , for say example CE1xxxx or CE4xxxx or BSEG and BKPF ( as these are the simplest examples I know and thus can relate to ) ?
