Sub total Field

Hi Sir,

Actually i am in the initial stage in sd as i need to know the exact functionality of the subtotal field in pricing procedure,

can u explain in detail way of that field, i was asked by an interviewer that whether it is dynamic or static ?

and what types of table that can be stored? what is its importance in the procedure ?
