Java stack license

Former Member

Dear All,

let's say we've had ERP 6.0 EHP4 double stack installation with applied license. After few months, maintenance etc. we decided to separate ABAP and Java stacks. Currently we have ERP 6.0 EHP5 ABAP stack with applied license, but we want to install also single Java stack. How do I generate license keys on sap market in such situation? Should I add java stack as a separate system on market? Or what's the procedure?

thanks in advance,

Pawel

Dear Pawel,

Hope you are doing good.

Please be aware that you should request a Standard license key or a J2EE license keys. How to select the license types is explained in the following note:
- #94998 - Requesting license keys and deleting systems (page 2/3)

Here are the information:
o  Standard: This type applies to all systems that have been installed on the SAP Web Application Server ABAP. It also applies to SAP J2EE Engine add-in installations and Enterprise Portal 6.0        systems (as of Support Package 9) that have been installed on the ABAP stack.

o  J2EE: This type applies to SAP J2EE Engine standalone systems and Enterprise Portal 6.0 systems (as of Support Package 9) that have been installed on the Java stack.

If you need a J2EE license, firstky delete all the license keys present. Then re-install the J2EE license key file you have requested on SAP Service MarketPlace for your system and then restart your J2EE system. Also please make sure that you have requested the license key for the correct Hardware Key. Please revert the message back to me if you are still experiencing some issues along with the new outcome of the license monitor for Java.

Once you split the ABAP+JAVA system , you have 2 separate systems with 2 unique SID.

Hence you need to maintain the system data for each system in the SAP service marketplace.

Once you add the JAVA system in the service marketplace , you can request the license key .
