Is Nakisa supported on Ehp6

Are the Nakisa applications supported on SAP ECC Ehp6?  If not is there a timeframe when it will be supported?

To all, Nakisa confirmed to me today that 3.0 SP3 is compatible with EhP6.

So, is "not supported" the same as "won't work with"?

Just wondering what it is about EhP6 that would cause problems with Nakisa?

You're right, "not supported" isn't strictly the same as "won't work with".

The point is probably more that SAP/Nakisa have not done any EhP6 testing with 3.0 and so they don't know if there are any issues.  If you did deploy to EhP6 and had an issue, if you then raised it through OSS you could probably expect the response that it is not supported and get no further help in resolving the issue until you proved it also exists on an earlier EhP release that is supported.  Even then the response would only be to resolve the issue for that supported version - symptoms on EhP6 could still persist.

Testing takes a non-trivial amount of resource to do (setting up environments, carrying out tests, resolving issues, etc.) and given some of the communications I've seen recently I think a significant proportion of Nakisa is focussed on 4.0. development and testing.  They probably just haven't got the resource available to do this with a version that will include this on the horizon.

So 3.0 may work with EhP6, but if it doesn't then you might be on your own to soe extent with resolving any issues.

I can only agree that my recent experience is that Nakisa are focussing heavily on 4.0 and aren't even fixing all "bugs" that are being reported in 3.0 SP3 until the 4.0 release.

The ABAP Add-on and Nakisa Transport package are neither supported nor do they work with EhP6. However, support for EhP6 is not with the product and R&D teams, but with their ABAP consultants. It is possible that a new ABAP Add-on and Nakisa Transport may be released for EhP6, although I think it is likely that the 4.0 add-on and transport will be made available for 3.0 because they are usually backwards compatible.

In the meantime I would raise an OSS message to request this as I would be surprised if Nakisa waited until 4.0 for EhP6 compatibility.

The latest version of the applications is 3.0 SP3.  This version does not currently support SAP ECC EhP6 and there's been no communication as to if it will support it.  When we contacted Nakisa about this we were told "EhP6 is not yet supported".

The 4.0 version is in the works currently (for release next year I think) and the expectation (though again I stress that I haven't heard any confirmation on this) is that this will support the use of EhP6.
