Planned Order BOM explosion date

Hi everybody,

has anyone experienced the following problem:

Planned orders (that are created using MF50), get the end date of the planned order as the bom explosion date. The settings in customizing are correct (it is bom explosion number/order start date. as there is no bom explosion number, the start date should be taken).

If I change the planned order in MF50, e.g. by increading the quantity by 1 piece, which doesn't have an impact on the start date, the bom explosion date in the planned order changes to the correct date and it takes the start date of the planned order.

Thanks very much in advance,

Marco

Hi,

I could not find much for the simple solution but there are some SAP notes and related program corrections.

Please check these notes :

Note 888832 - Explosion date in the planned order in ord creation in MF50

Note 867750 - Incorrect BOM explosion date when creating orders in MF50

Note 412736 - MRP: PP master data selection (explosion date) (please check this note for different possibilities and explainations)

Let me know if it is helpful to you.

Hi Pavan,

thank you very much for your quick response! The notes are already implemented in the system - so that has no impact. The system doesn't take the correct bom explosion date if I create the planned order with MF50 or with the MRP. If I create it manually with MD11, it takes the correct bom explosion date.

I have someone to look at the problem in detail now, so maybe everything will be solved by tomorrow. Thank you very much again for you support - I will keep this updated as soon as I have the solution.

Have a good day,

Marco

Hi Pavan,

just a short note on this issue: all my questions are answered now and the system does what it has to do. More or less everything is described in note 888832 - thank you very much again for your help.

On thing I want to add is, that the basic start date is relevant for the calculation of the bom explosion date of a planned order. When a planned is created, the bom explosion date will be determined right after the calculation of the basic dates. For the calculation of the basic start date, the lot-size-independent production time of the material master will be taken. Therefore, the bom explosion date is the basic start date after this calculation. The next step is the calculation of the production times. These will change the basic start date if the system is customized like that, but it has no impact on the bom explosion date.

If the planned order will be changed after that (for example by reducing the quantity), the bom explosion date will be determined again. As the basic start date was change by the production date, the bom explosion date will change also.

Hope there are not too many "dates" in this description.

Thanks and have a nice day,

Marco
