hi:

Since both A&B would be in the same BOM ,I cann't find a suitable aternative method for it..Someone told me it is possible to make it in SAP..We can plan on B and PO consume A...Anyone can give me some tips...thanks..

This is use-up effectivity -Engineering change.

In the material master of A, define B as "Follow up material"

Addtionally pupulate

Discontinous Ind=1

Effective out-date= Earliest date ECN can be effected.

MRP will ful fill all requirement of A with material A till Earliest date or Stock of A is depleted. After projected stock of A is reaches 0, purchase req of B will be generated in advance.

Depending on actual consumption/issue...Effective date of change will be same or later that Effective out date.

You write abap to take report when actual chnage occured /from which date & change BOM using ECN retrospectively.

Note that , if demand increases & projected stock of A reaches 0, system will raise PR before 'Effective out Date'. So be careful in defining Effective out date. You don't need to calculate effective out date... it is earliest ECN can be implemented. Rediness of vendor, Engineers, Shop floors rediness,

Hi,Jatin:

If there are inventory against A,fcst will still be put under A instead of B...

According to ur suggestion,if A has 40 inventory and I put fcst on FERT material with 30.then dependent requirement will be put for A .I expec all the fcst are put under B..Can I make it ?

hi Yang,

Forecast is always under FERT... so if A & B are raw materials or HALB....There is only dependet requurement for A & B. I don't understand why you are using word forecast from A & B.

With above solution all dep req will be under A(Since BOM is not updated yet), but MRP is intelligent enough to pass excess requiremet to B & generate purchase req. for B. if your meaning of forecast of B is future purchase req...you will make it .

Hi,Jatin:

     I see..

I am wonderring if it is possible to generate dependent requirement under B only instead of A,even there are stock for A.My client only expect to see dependent requiremnt under B not A.And PO continue to consume A untill A is using up..

      thanks..

Hi,

have you checked for alternative item group option?

use  B with 100 % and A as 0 %

if you use it , you can have both A and B available in production order and you can change respective quantitys as per the situation.

Hi Yang,

Dependent requireemnt is MRP element....Technical object for MRP to work across BOM level... It doesn't represent or map to any business entity... your client should only evaluate end result.. i. e. Purchase Requsiitions are going out on correct part number.

if your client is not so expert & doesn't go thro' detailed evaluation of MRP/Stock requiremnt list, it would not matter at all since Purchase Req. outputs are all correct. Many of customer only output PR list... & don't care as long as ordering is perfact.

Please award points for this.

Hi,

Please try alternate BOM item in BOM.

An item used as an alternative to one or more BOM items. Alternative items in a BOM that belong together are assigned to an alternative item group.
