Hi,
We are currently testing the kernel upgrade from700 to 720 since SAP said that the maintenance will end in August.
Just want to ask if anyone here encountered that after the patch, there were two sapstartsrv running.
One was the sapstartsrv run when you install the SAPHOSTAGENT.. the other one was during startup.
After patching, during the startsap r3, the sapstartsrv will also start using the <sid>adm.
nautddbs02-s:dv1adm 91% ps -ef | grep sapstartsrv
dv1adm 27381 1 0 18:43:16 ? 0:04 /usr/sap/DV1/SYS/exe/run/sapstartsrv pf=/usr/sap/DV1/SYS/profile/START_DVEBMGS0
sapadm 24115 1 0 18:34:44 ? 0:00 /usr/sap/hostctrl/exe/sapstartsrv pf=/usr/sap/hostctrl/exe/host_profile -D
dv1adm 28486 20877 0 19:01:43 pts/3 0:00 grep sapstartsrv
Is this normal? I mean, that there would be two sapstartsrv running?
There was no instruction from SAPNote 1636252 to remove sapstartsrv, only saposcol.
Maybe some of you have encountered this as well.
Let me know if there should only be one process running for the sapstartsrv.
Thank you
Regards.
There will be sapstartsrv processes running for SAPHOSTAGENT and for each instance running in the host.
The SAPOSCOL should be running under the hostagent and only 1 for the host.
