Inbound delivery - gr by idoc?

Hi All,

Our system landscape exists out of SAP ECC 6.0 as ERP and Manhattan as WMS system. In our to be process :

1 Inbound deliveries are created within SAP based upon DESADV messages coming from the vendor.

2 The creation of this delivery triggers an interface which sends the inbound delivery towards Manhattan.

3 Within Manhattan an actual GR is performed.

4 By Idoc SAP is updated with the results of the goods receipt.

We tried step 4 using the WMMBXY idoc. This results however in the shortdump with message VL 132 every time as soon as we fill the delivery fields. Now we are wondering if we are using the wrong idoc. Anybody an idea which idoc we should use?

Hi Marco,

I think, you are using the correct message and IDOC: WMMBXY.IDOC:WMMBID02.

How you are creating the GR? Is this based on the delivery document (inbound) or other like purchase order?

If this is created based on the inbound delivery, check the parent segment E1MBXYH, field KZBEW, and let me know how is this assigned.

These are the values for this field:

_ Goods movement w/o reference (SPCE)

B Goods movement for purchase order

F Goods movement for production order

L Goods movement for delivery note

K Goods movement for kanban requirement (WM - internal only)

O Subsequent adjustment of "material-provided"

Please, let me know your feedback.

Kind regards,

SP

Hi Sandra,

We are creating the GR based on the delivery document. Just filled the field E1MBXYH-KZBEW with the value L and the idocs are not generating any shortdumps anymore. However they are failing with error message "Update control of movement type is incorrect (entry 101 X X _ L )". When i open transaction OMJJ there is actually no line marked with L for movement 101, so this error message would make sense. However when i post the GR manually no error occurs and this is a 101 movement as well. Any qlue where this difference in system behaviour is coming from?

Please check OSS Note 521427 - FAQ: IDocs for goods
movements

I think the first question should already help you

Hi Marco,

As Jürgen L. suggested with the SAP note, you need to change the IDOC value:

KZBEW = B

And, check if TCODE if this is = MB0A.

I hope this help.

Thanks both the goods receipt is posted without any errors  However only the purchase order history is updated, no updates have been executed on the inbound delivery. I have no experience with inbound deliveries, but I was expecting to see the inbound delivery to be GR as well. So my questions are :

- Was my expection correct, should the inbound delivery have been GR?

- If my expectation was incorrect, any suggestions how to close of the outstanding inbound delivery?

Kind Regards,

I have no experience with inbound deliveries,

but this OSS note looks promising to close your question:

Note 833603 - EDI: Goods receipt for
stock transport order

Assume this is resolved by now but you need to use the WHSCON message type.  Goods receipts via IM will never close the inbound delivery document.
