Hi Friends,

Yesterday night our server went down suddenly, after restarting it is working fine, but i have gone through SM21 i can find the log as ---  around 8.pm

SQL error 3113 (possibly network error) : WP in reconnect status.

in ST22 - in the afternoon 1.54pm -- dump as SET_Parameter_Memory_Overflow

around 8.22pm.--In Oracle alert log i can see -- Shutting down the instance .

Our Server information is -- HP unix, Oracle 8 with SAP 4.0B.  Can anyone suggest what should i do to overcome this issue in future.  Please update me.

Thanks & Regards

sathya.

Hi Sathya,

Check SAP note :335199 - ora-3113 collective note.

oracle 10.2.0.2 is not supported any more,If you are on oracle 10.2.0.2 than you need to apply latest patch set as per note 839187 and 1431752.

Hi,

It seems somebody (or some automatic process) has shut down the database.

Do you have a cluster configuration?

Is there a 3rd party monitoring tool that could have shut down the database?

What other messages are there around the "shutting down the instance" message?
