Hi Experts,
My scenario is like i have annual maintenance of Generator, and they replace few components (materials).
So i created a material BOM, and inked it to the equipment. I pick this material BOM in work order and maintenance is performed.
Later i made an equipment BOM on this generator, but i'm not clear how i pick this materials now in the workorder.
I'm not getting the exact use of equipment BOM scenario, when we use it and how?
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
VINOD

Equipment BOMs are specific to one piece of equipment (1:1) whereas a Material BOM can be linked to many equipment/flocs (n:1).
As such Material BOMs tend to have more materials assigned as they are linked to more technical objects.Whereas Equipment BOMs can contain material specific to that equipment.
Another difference is the way that the BOMs are assigned. Equipment BOMs are a direct assignment in that once they are created you do not need to make any additional assignment.. However, once a Material BOM has been created you then need to make a manual assignment via the Construction Type field in the equip/floc.

Hi Vinod,
You have created Equipment BOM. When you create an Maintenance Order on this equipment & you required an component then in component tab of maintenance order click on List Icon at botton task bar, here you get all component list of Equipment BOM. then double click on required component & it will get selected. Take reservation no. by clicking Gen. Data tab at bottom & issue this component against this reservation no. through MB1A.
Please check at your end, may be helpful to you to resovle your problem.
