Post installation steps for BI ABAP and BI JAVA

Hi All,

We have installed BI7.3 as ABAP applied all the required patches and BI_CONT 736 standard post installation is completed like licensing, stms client copy and logical client etc.. But after this what would be the next step how to add source system ? how to integrate BI with R3

For BI 7.3 do we have to install ABAP & JAVA separately with different SID ?? if yes can i install abap and java separately with different SID on same server??

And also plesse let me know Post installation steps for BI ABAP and BI JAVA like adding source system( integration with r3) and integration of BI with portal.

It will be a great help if any one can provide any document about BI7.3 post installation (steps on adding r3 in bi with rsa1 etc)

Thanks in advance

Thanks

    Hi Abdul

For general post install steps please refer to Netweaver 7.3 Installation guide. It has a pretty good list of things to do after installation.

As far as your concerns about BI specific steps , refer to this document. It will walk you through the basic things required to get your BI system functioning.  It includes the source system creation too.

Now about your concerns about the java stack for BI , it is good to keep it separate ( ABAP and JAVA as separate systems ) rather than dual stack . Yes you can install ABAP and JAVA as two different SID's on the same host. You will also have to keep the instance numbers different.

When installing your java stack make sure you select usage types relevant to BI , you can find the details about it in the master guide.

Once you have the java stack running , you can execute "BI Java Technical Configuration" wizard in your java stack to connect to your BI ABAP system.
