Valid combinations for planning and filtering members based on excel values

HI Experts

I have few questions while designing an input form for opex planning:

1. when I create the form, how do I ensure that the data can posted only on the valid combinations, Earlier I was copying data from Actuals and by hiding the zero values rows, I used to get only the valid combinations to change the values. But now it is zero base plan.

2.With EVDRE, i had the option of dynamically filtering the values of one dimension, i.e. Cost center by using its property comp_code which used to get value from current view of company code dimension using EVCVW. How do I achieve this in EPM 10 using report creator, which refer to values in excel for filtering.

I tried using dimension property in member selector but it didnt work for me for this. could somebody explain the functionality of this feature.

Thanks.

    Hello Shikha,

    1. Sorry, I couldn't understand your question. Pls elaborate. If you are referring to Get Only Range in V 7.5, you have something similar in EPM 10 as well -> Read-only Data tab of the Report Editor

    2. Either you can use the filter button in the member selector window (if you want static expansion based on some property). If it is a dynamic expansion (i.e. based on a property in another dimension selected by user), you will have to use EPMDimensionOverride Function, refer to my reply in the below thread -

    Hope it helps!!
