short dump Unable to interpret "N " as a number in if condition in program


i declared value6_char type char but here issue is when iam passing number in value6_char shown below line

if value6_char LE125 . then its working fine ... but when iam passing

IF value6_char NE 'N' then its giving me short dump saying that Unable to interpret "N " as a number.

The program attempted to interpret the value "N " as a number, but

since the value contravenes the rules for correct number formats,

this was not possible.

any help is appreciable.

    I don not think help is required here ..You can help yourself as this is very basic instaed analyzing will help you undesrtand ABAP and My suggestion is that please understand the cause and effect by analyzing/debufgiing rather than asking.
