Importing hierarchy in MDM

Hi,

I want to import a hierarchy into the categories table in Material repository as below (stored in Sheet 1 of excel).

Subsequently I also want to import master data records (stored in Sheet 2 of excel)

Can I import both the hierarchy and master records into repository at the same time or do i have to create the hierarchy  first then only import data?

Hierarchy:

Motors:Electric Motor

Motors:Magnetic Motor

Engines: Petrol engine

Engines: Diesel engine

Material Master:

Materil	Color	RPM
Electric moter A	Black	100
Magnetic motor A	Grey	120

Hi Vignesh,

You have to create two maps: one for import of Hierarchy Data and one for Main data.

Then you have to first import Hierarchy data as it will be referred by Main Data records in the second import run. Otherwise Main Table data will throw error while importing data.

So you cannot import Reference Data and Main Table data in single run.

HI Vignesh,

First step is to create a hierarchy first and second is to populate it.

You can do this by-

• Setting Splitting delimeterfollowed by splitting as hierarchy,mapping fields and Importing.
• Partitioning
• Creating hierarchy in data manager manually.

Hi Vignesh,

first you have to import hierarchy than main table.  you cant import them together.
