Dear Vishal,

Check out this,

1. First finish all the production booking in MFBF(whether it might be Assembly backflush or

component backflush or Activity backflush) so that there's no more cancellation either through MFBF

or MF41or MF12.Also Ensure all the reprocessing records are processed successfully that are lying

in MF47(if any).

2.Then variance calculation & settlement of the Product cost collectors by selecting the order

number that you find it in KKF6N-->under header tab key.

3.Then setting the deletion flag for the product cost collectors.

4.Once this is done close the production version to Date,I mean set the system's date as To date,so

that it's not going to be used anymore.

5. Remove the REM profile and REM allowed indicator for all those materials which are to be shifted

from REM to Discrete.

6.You can create routing for all those materials ,if required then production version by combining the

BOM & routing.

7.If you are doing all these things at the month end it will be well and good ,so that once the new

period (month is opened) means you can take a new cost rollup for the new quantity structure.

8. If required you can create new activity type for setting the activity type+Cost center combination

for defining new activity Rates.

9.Incase if you are going to use new cost centers, then that also can be implemented.

Check with this & revert back.

Dear Experts,

Thanks every one for the valuable information.

Please tell me how can i settle the product cost collector?

Dear Vishal,

Settlement is a CO related activity which is done through T.code KO88 or else CO88.

Hi Vishal,

Set the status as answered to your thread to further avoid responses will be better.

Hi Mangalraj,

We are planning to change from Repetitive to discrete.

In our manufacturing process we have production process in between, that means we have WIP.

So when we run WIP on the monthend and delete the PCC. How are we going to transfer the current WIP into the production orders and how are we going to reverse WIP of PCC in the next month and start calculating WIP on production orders.

Can you please provide some inputs on this.

Thanks,

Srini

Hi,

Yes you can change.

Check the below things:

1.  In MRP 4 view of material master REM profile should be de-activated.

2.  Deactivate the cost collector indicator in the Order type dependent parameter.

3.  Standard routing with workcenter category 0001

4.  Maintain order types (discreate like PP01) with work scheduling view and there should not be REM allowed indicator in material master.

Hi

You can do it. Take care of following points

No planned order should exist from REM, Remove the REM check box in the material master. Change relevant master data like rate routing to routing,Change from preliminary cost estimate then switch it in to std cost estimate. Create settlement profile and assign it to order type.

Refer thread which gives more insight

Hi Vishal,

Yes it possible for going from REM to discrete or vis-versa.

You have take care of few points

- Stocks of materials should be zero

- there shown be any open production, purchase orders or reservations

- After having all these, remove the REM profile material master

- then create production order for this material, it will behave like a discrete material.

I have tried this and it worked.

Hello Vishal,

You can change materials from REM to Discrete Manufacturing... considering below points are taken care of:

- Remove REM indicator & Profile from Material Master

- Close respective Product Cost Collectors after settling them

- Prod Versons can be used in discrete process; so based on your requirement you can either delete or use the same

For discrete mfg, you need to also setup below:

- Setup Order Type with its parameters for discrete process

- Need to replace Rate Routing with Routing as required

- Rest master data can be used as it is (e.g. Materials, BOM, Work Centers)

Check the same & revert...

Hi Vishal,

Adding to Anup's suggestions -

1) If at all, we are going to use a production version after changing to Discrete Mfg route,...The production version needs to be refreshed with the New Routing, and also the the 'REM Allowed' tick needs to be removed --> even better option would be to to delete the old production version meant for REM, and set up a new production version.

2) Set up Production order type(OPJH), Production scheduling profile(OPKP), Confirmation parameters, Checking control(OPJK), Scheduling parameters(OPU3) --> Assign production scheduling profile to the material master - enabling automatic selection of Production order type

Thanks
