46B as source release for ERP 60 EHP6

Dears,

I'm evaluating the roadmap for an upgrade and unicode conversion for a 46B system to rel ERP 606.

I saw  on the ERP 60 upgrade guide the lowest release supported is 46C; what about rel. 46B ?

It's not supported to go from 46B to ERP 606 in one step ?

Hello Roberto,

Could you please check the SAP ERP Central Component 6.0 Support Release3 . Kindly check the

section Support Release. Additionally you can check the Upgrade Master Guide for the valid     

sourse releases for the Upgrade to ERP 6.0 SR3 .

Hi , I read the document and it seems the one-step upgrade up to ERP 60 EHP3 is allowed starting from rel. 31I.

But I'm looking for informations also how to perform the unicode conversion togheter with the upgrade.

In the past I did several CU&UC starting from 46C release, but as from note 928729 it works only for > 46C; then the Twin Upgrade procedure as for note 959698 is released only for MDMP system , and it's not my case.

Any advise ?

Hi ,

From the ERP 60 including EHP5 upgrade guide the lower release supported for one-step upgrade is the 46C.

That despite I read another Sap document where the one-step upgrade to ERP 60 is supported starting 31I.

As I'm using Oracle 9, I'm planning to perform the oracle upgrade to 102x as first , then to do the Sap Upgrade to ERP 60 EHP5 (latest EHP supported over Oracle 102x).

The unicode conversion will be done at the end.,as it's not possible to do it first.

Someone has information about the possibility to perform Sap upgrade to ERP 605 starting from 46B  ?

Roberto,

You can't upgrade in that manner. You will need to upgrade to Ecc 6.0 then from there do your upgrade to EHP5. All information is located on HTTPS://websmp203.sap-ag.de/erp-inst

Hi Ruth,

You are in right, 46B to ERP 60 EHP5 is not supported; the lower release supported in 46C.

But 46B to ERP 600 including EHP4 SR1 should be possible, the lower release supported is 46B.

The problem is that I have first to upgrade the RDBMS, as Oracle 9 is not supported with ERP 604.

But from PAM  it seems the 46B is not released with Oracle 10 or 11..

I'm wrong ?

I found note 819655, despite Oracle 10 is not release for version 46B it's allowed to use it during the upgrade.

So the steps I have to do are :

- Upgrade oracle from 9x to 10x

- Upgrade Sap from 46B to ERP 604 SR1

- Unicode conversion and export

- Import on Unicode target system with Oracle 11

- Application on EHP6 for ERP 60.

Hello Roberto,

Upgrade to EHP6 for ERP 6.0 from the 46B is not possible in one step.

Kindly check the upgrade guide & the PAM (Product Availability Matrix) for more information.
