Yes, checking the box is not necessary. Records in the standard DSOs are overwritten based on the key fields defined. The box should be checked only when you are sure that you won‟t have any duplicate records.

    • so in case of a dso ,we have to write a routine to put error records to error

is your question regarding error stack or semantic grouping? you can activate the error stack handling in the dtp in the tab UPDATE. choose an option for ERROR HANDLING. you don't need to code a single letter for this standard feature...

    Hi Kiranjit,

Semantic groups are used to decide the sequence of data to be loaded in the data packages. The fields defined in the semantic group will act as keys. Records with same key combination will come in same data package.

    Hi,

Semantic key in dtp is used define error stock ( suppose any error record coming from source to bw to track this we define error stock ) based on error stock defination error record can be traced.

Check uniqueness of data flag in dso is used when you dnt want to allow duplicate records we use this.

    Hi Kiranjit,

If you check "Unique Data Records" and if the loaded request contains data that is already present in the DSO, then activation of the request will give an error.

Uncheck "Unique Data Records". Since DSO has an overwriting functionality based on the defined key fields, there will be no duplicate records on activation.
