Database error: "Unable to retrieve network layer aliases" WIS10901

We're seeing this from the Web Intelligence client for certain users when running a query.

Anyone know what the error means specifically? Is it related to an ODBC connection? desktop firewall? network?

Thanks

I guess no one's seen this error before 😢

What type of connectivity is that report using (DB under universe - ODBC, TNS...)?

Is the problem isolated to a specific LAN? (network)

What differenciates the "users" having the problem to the rest?

Any problem when testing the connectivity on its own?

Does DeskI or Designer shed more light on the issue (different error)?

Which version of the product are you using exactly?

Have you generated any trace for that issue?

      I would start there 😊
