Changing G/L accounts for WIP in a live system

Hello,

We have a live SAP system where we have WIP, WIP Reserve and Semi-finished goods transactions posting to the same G/L (Balance Sheet) account. Company wants to change that to post to different G/L accounts: Semi-Finished (tying to Material Master), WIP (from KKAJ) and Reserve ((from KKAJ).

How can we change these accounts? Are there any implications?

Thanks,

TD

    Hi Toidi,

Yes,you can change Inventory and WIP balance sheet accounts in live system.but these changes should be done end of quater or end of fiscal year.

Before changing inventory account, backout semi-finished inventory and change account and bring back all inventory.

After GL accounts changes, all new Inventory,Reserve and WIP postings will done to new GL accounts

Go to OBYC transaction and double click on BSX transaction and change semi-finished goods GL account.which is assigned against Semi-finished goods valuation class.

Go to OKG8 and change Reseve account and WIP account.

    Hope this helps you.

    Thanks,

    Rau
