XI/PI for Self service Procurement - Classic

Dear SAP gurus,

We are in SRM 7 EHP 1 with ECC 6 EHP 5 as backend. We will be running using Self Service Procurement - Classic. In our scenaro, once the sourcing is finished in SRM, and vendor is awarded, the PO will be created in backend (ECC). Do we need to use XI/PI for this scenario? If we do use XI/PI for this scenario, is BADI to change backend data in SRM can still be used?

And one more thing, for ECC 6 EHP 5, what value do I need to input for backend type in SRM? Should I use ERP_5.0?

John

Hello,

If you set backend version up to ERP_3.0 in table BBP_BACKEND_DEST, RFC will be used to create PO in ECC.

If you set ERP_4.0 or ERP_5.0, XML will be used to create PO in ECC.

If XML is used, badi BBP_CREATE_BE_PO_NEW will not be called anymore.

/SAPSRM/BD_SOA_MAPPING, method map_backend_to_xi will be called instead.

Regards,

Ricardo

You can run XI/PI or RFc for the scenario.

Yes BADI to change back end data can still be used.

You can also useERP_3.0 or 4.0.

In 4.0 you can achieve most of the functionality with PI integration.
