BDLS did not work again! after system refresh

Former Member

Hi team,

ECC6, SQL under windows env.

After system refresh ECC6 PROD to STAGING system, I am trying to go in BW 7. and check source system connection with STG system i am getting an error BW unknown system

I run BDLS after system refresh, works fine but when I check Table T000 or SCC4 shows logical clients that ok too

see Table view RSBASIDOC still show old PROD entry there,

I think BDLS did not change the entry, so I try to run BDLS again but I am getting this error

"The new Logical system ZERSCLNT300 (staging system) is assigned to the current client 300"

My Question is why BDLS did not work again and what should I do to it will work again ?

also can i change manual modify table RSBASIDOC ?

Please verify

Thanks

Hi Angeline,

I think  you may need to revisit your BDLS run procedure. As stated above by Ruchit, BDLS run gives option to select tables to convert. Better to select "*" for all tables containing Logical system fields.

Hi Vishal,

I think BDLS wasn't run properly last time, so thats why in table RSBASIDOC table still shows PROD entry;

I tried to run BDLS again using "Tables to be Converted" with "*" as you explain it but I got a message:

"The new logical system name ZERSCLNT300 is assigned to the current client 300

could you please tell me what should I do now

Thanks for your time

Hi Angeline,

This is coming because value ZERSCLNT300 would be the there in T000 field LOGSYS when MANDT=300 i.e in simpler terms logical system ZERSCLNT300 has got assigned to client 300 already.

This is a warning and can be ignored because at the end of BDLS is a simple update statement but which is controlled by a condition where clause i.e it will update only those field values where production logsys is found.

Anyways here is what I suggest. Execute BDLS only for RSBASIDOC (give only RSBASIDOC as tables to be converted) initially. If this resolves the issue well and good. If not you have to look for alternative solution.

Also if I remember correctly * is not a must particularly given that the fields are not parameters but select option.Even blank would be taken as "*".

Yup, thats just a warning & can be ignored. Youo can proceed for BDLS run.

Hi Vishal,

I know thats warning, I like to run it but the prblem after I got that message everying is grayout, only option i have to go back prevouse window

even I am loging as a sapadm account; do I have to login in client 000

What do you think?

No, you have to run BDLS from same client. You need to put new client name in SCC4 & start BDLS.

Just press "enter" when everything grayed out & you should be able to proceed.

Hi Angeline,

Did you try to run BDLS for RSBASIDOC exclusively and explicitily. As you know BDLS gives you the option to run it for select few tables.

Angeline,

Also please check the OSS note 1406273 to find out if the situation described in it is applicable in your case. And you can also give 886102 a reading too.
