Hi Guys,

                Could you guys,please help me out of this.How to prepare requirement checklist for requirement gathering for dashboards, reports, Webi, and universe.This i have not done before,if i had posted in wrong forum please mention in which forum to post this.THanks in advance.

Hi George,

                     First Thanks for reply.My project Kickoff is completed and my manager has asked me to prepare checklist for the requirement gathering.This is an implementation project. As per the project it requires universe,webi and xcelsius reports to be developed.I want to know what are the key points in requirement gathering for these tools.The main thing is that the client has no idea about SAP BO and he has no Core team.How to proceed.

George is correct, this would be more appropriate to be posted in the Webi forum, as pointed, please use the link.

I have very little experience with requirements gathering itself and normally the process is the other way around ... the customer gives the requirements and a suitable product is found.

As a start - not a definitive list, I would suggest:
Documents
What sort of data visualizations (charts, maps, ) are required?
What type of documents are required? Just billing, deeper data analysis, on the fly analysis? Large data volumes?
Does it need to be updated every day? Frequency of updates
How are documents shared? e-mail, bi platform/web, ftp, ...
What is the level of change management that is required? Can all users create documents? (Life Cycle Management)

Platform
Additinal Forms of Authentication required? WinAD?

Does it need to be running on a certain OS?

Datasource related
Where does the data come from, multiple sources? Does it need to be cleaned? Does data need to be merged - ETL? How fast is the end-user expecting a response from the tool (can the database deliver?)?

Is single signon to the database required?

Devices
What devices need to be supported? Just browser or also iPad, Blackberry etc

You can extending this list with hundreds of questions, but I can't really go to that far.
