    Hi,

A DataStore object contains key fields (such as document number, document item) and data fields that, in addition to key figures, can also contain character fields (such as order status, customer). The data from a DataStore object can be updated with a delta update into InfoCubes (standard) and/or other DataStore objects or master data tables (attributes or texts) in the same system or across different systems. Unlike multidimensional data storage using InfoCubes, the data in DataStore objects is stored in transparent, flat database tables. The system does not create fact tables or dimension tables.

In standard DSO master data is linked with SID's only after activation.

    Hi Kiranjith,

It depends on the setting we set while creating DSO.

DSO is nothing but a two dimesional table in Database which stores data.

if you set "SID Generation" in setting of DSO, then it stores SID for characteristics instead of it's values. If you don't set this option it directly stores the values of characteristics(this setting doesn't apply for key Figures).

SID generation is useful if you have reports on the same DSO, because reporting performance is good though it takes time while activating request.

    Regards

    Venkatesh
