Designer XI 3.1

Good Afternoon:

Is there a tool to read specific fields of meta data from a unv. file into a flat file. I see that you can save a unv file as a PDF and then convert the PDF to a text file. The problem is I want there are to many elements I don't need, I just want the field name and the description in a flat file so that I can create a web page user can use to search Name and see the Description associated to the Name.

We have done a good job of adding the text in the universes, however, we also want to have the information in a searchable web page.

Thanks

Brad

I don't think there is one. What you can do is convert your pdf file to flat file format like MS word or something else. You should be able to find converter program on the internet. And then edit it.

There are two ways, either to find a third-party tool or if you know some programming language, to use the Universe SDK

In any case I am going to move this to the Semantic layer discussions, to which this matter belongs

    thanks!
