is it possible to do partial deliveries in bom

Hi All,

I have an issue with Sales BOM.

Let?s say for example, a BOM (ABC) has 3 components (AA, BB, & CC).

When the BOM ABC is entered in sales order for a quantity of 5, it explodes and ATP check is run.

Matrl ConfirmedQuan Delivery Date Delivery Group Delv.Grp.Date

ABC 5(MATERIAL) 12/3/2008 , 22/3/2008

AA 5 12/3/2008  22/3/2008

BB 5 12/3/2008  22/3/2008

CC 3 12/3/2008  22/3/2008                      CC 2 12/03/2008   26/03/2008

                           here i am asking is it possible to do partial deliveries in bom above given situation cc material actually should come in to sales order 5 on the date  22/3/2008 The material is conformed for all  sub items except . for cc 2 items material is available on 26/03/2008

Hello,

That depends on the Delivery Group.

If you have defined & assinged Delivery Group to BOM items, then they can only be delivered to-gather.

If the Delivery Group is not defined, than each component of BOM can be develivered seperately. It is generally advised to create Delivery Groups in BOM so that all the Components are delivered togather.

The Setting for Delivery Group is in Item Category (VOV7) - There is a box for Create Delivery Group under Bill of material/Configuration

As Jignesh has said, it is possible. But usually it is not the right practice to deliver the BOM materials partially. Just for Eg; if you have ordered for a PC and they deliver you with the monitor and key board one day and then deliver the CPU after a week. is that acceptable to us?

But partial delivery you can achieve through the settings mentioned by Jignesh

schedule  line  date will same or for all line item then it will to partial deliveries ,

when schedule line date  different ( conform quantity date ) , system will not create the delivery ,

check once you system its allow or not
