Planning execution not done in SAP R/3 if SCM APO available?

Hi experts,

There are both systems available like SAP R/3 and SCM APO. Master data is created only in SAP R/3. When i have to plan particular FG material 1, i wll maintain parameters like MRP type = X0 for particular FG material 1, raw material 1 so that planning will be done only in SCM APO so planned orders will be created in SCM APO through sales order and confirmation will be done in SAP R/3.

Case I - When I change master data for FG material 1 like MRP type = Pd, strategy = 10 and relative parameters of Make to stock scenario, PIR created and try to planning execution through MD02. But in MD02 only FG material 1 is showing and not component raw material 1so planned order for FG material 1 is created but Purchase requistion for raw material 1 is not created. Only dependant requirement is showing in MD04 for raw material 1.

Case II - Now i am created total new material masters like FG material 2 and raw material 2, maintained all standard parameters in material masters for Make to stock scenario. Again PIR created and MRP run through MD02, but same problem like purchase requision not created, 

So what is the basic reason for not planning in R/3 but done in SCM APO?

This is normal.  You have decided to plan the FG in ERP, but you have left the planning of the RM in APO.  If you wish for the RM to also be planned, you will have to execute a planning heuristic in APO.

By the way, this scenario is uncommon.  Most companies who decide to split planning between ERP and SCM elect to plan the higher levels of the BOMs (more critical) in APO, and leave the lower level materials (less critical) to be planned in ERP using a consumption MRP type.

What are the MRP types of FG2 and RM2?  If either of these are X0, have you generated and activated Integration Models?

Dear,

Couple of checks,

1. Is there any Stock for material ?
2. Have you maintained Purchasing data  for these raw material?
3. Do you have MRP view with correct MRP type is define in system.?
4. Planning file entry is created for these material cross check in MD21.
