Need suggestion to select module in SAP

Hello Guys,

I have been working in an MNC for last three years ans out of that I spent 2 years in .Net and JAVA then about 8 months back I joined SAP in PDM module(I don't know how many of you have heard of it !!! it is Product data management) which was told to be a very niche tool to work in and it is a kind of techno functional work that needs to be done. I do not have any technical as well as functional knowledge. Now after working in PDM module for 8 month I land myself familiar with the SAP screens(MM01,02,03,CV04N,SU01,CS03 etc.) only!!!

So as a burning frustration I have started learning ABAP on my own(though I have no practical working knowledge) as heard from everyone and felt myself that ABAP is necessary to stay in SAP, BUT along with that I want to pick up a functional module.

So want to know you from guys that which module should I pick to enhance my career.

And please mention if any prior knowledge is required for any of the module(I know many of you will suggest to go for ABAP, but I want to know about some functional module).

If I choose FICO, will it be cumbersome for me?

I have done my B.TECH in Electrical Engineering.

Please help guys!!!!

It got bit lengthy out of my frustration.

If you are considering FICO, you are throwing away any pre-existing knowledge and expertise you may have. If you are willing to go that far out, then the world is your oyster, pick anything that interests you. If you are looking for more organic growth, PLM shares some business aspects with PDM. PLM will then have some overlap with MM.

Having the engineering and PDM could also, depending on the company, also make you a natural fit for Production Planning or Plant Maintenance.
