Plan Driven Procurement and PPS without PI

Hi experts,

We are conducting an upgrade, from SRM 5.0 to SRM 7.01, with ECC 6.04 as ERP backend. Our current scenario is Plan Driven Procurement, and we want to add some Public Sector functionalities. My question is the following, In what cases PI is absolutely mandatory? The client doesn't want to implement PI, so we need to make the scenario work without it.

Any help will be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Matias

Hi Matias,

Please check this link:

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/EIPCDQ

If you use SRM 7.0 and don't want to use XI/PI you will not be able to use ESOA and the new functionalities of EHP4.

As of SRM701 and ERP6 EHP5 (only for EHP5 and higher) customer can use PI independent Enterprise services without need for PI system.

Cheers,

Melina

Melina, thanks for your answer.

We don't use ESOA functionality, just transfer PR from ERP to SRM, and then transfer PO to ERP from SRM, with Extended Classic Scenario.

We wanted to add some functionalities from PPS, such as Two-Envelope Bidding and Document Builder, is that possible without PI?

Thanks in advace.

Hello,

1. You can transfer the PR using RFC BBP_EXTREQ_TRANSFER

2. PO transfer in extended classic scenario happens via RFC again

3. Two Envelope Bidding doesnot require PI unless you opt for RFX Submission outside firewall

4. Document Builder can work with webservices (Synchronous) or with PI (asynchronous).

For Document Builder refer to https://websmp105.sap-ag.de/instguides , Choose SAP xApps-> SAP Document Builder.

For the features you mentioned above, PI is not necessary.

Thanks,

Sushil.
