Creating model for custom tables

Hello Experts,

I have a requirement to create few web ui pages for viewing / editing / creating some custom data. The data is not linked to any of the standard BOL components. I have around 10 database custom tables where the data is to be maintained from screen. And there are 3-4 screens for the purpose. In each screen, data maintained or viewed are from 2-3 dependant custom tables. I have few questions regarding the approach I am going to take.

1. Currently the database tables does not have guids. Is guid mandatory when building an object model?

2. I am planning to create 1 custom model per screen which will contain custom BOL objects. Is this a right approach?

3. I want to include attributes from different database tables in a BOL entity. Can you please tell me how i can link my database tables used to the BOL structure? Say, when i use this BOL structure in queries and all, how does it hit the right DB table?

Regards,

Heera

    Hi Heera,

If you are using 7.0 ehp1 ,then appropriate solution might be using Rapid Application Development which hardly needs coding .
