Config required for final inspection

Dear Gurus,

my requirement is,

I have to do inspection for finish product before deliver to customer site.For that i activated inspection type 10 in material master.After saving the delivery system not shown any inspection lot.Why?

Is there any config. from QM side need to do?  or anything from SD end? Pla suggest

Could u pls provide steps to do this scenario.

Hi Venkat,

Ensure following customization is done.

1. QCC0 > Quality inspection > inspection lot creation > Inspection at shipping > Assign Inspection Lot Origin to Delivery Type
2. Here ensure inspection lot origin 10 is assigned to appropriate delivery type

Thank you for valuable suggestions.

As per your suggestions i configured and checked for one cycle.

Created sales order and did PGI but no inspection lot generated.Could pls give steps so that i can able to get where i am doing wrong.

Pls suggest.

Will it works without PP module becoz we dont have PP module.Finish product from Proj.is to be delivered to customer site.Will the above scenario works for this ?

Pls guide me.

Hi Venkat

Do as other  QM guys suggested..

1) Activated inspection type 10,11, 12 whichever is relevant in your case.Also make sure that inspection with task list is ticked in QM view of that material in relevant inspection type.

2) Do the cofig setting i.e assign that praticular delivery type to inspeciton lot origin.

3) Make customer info record as you need i.e lot must be generated after delivery or befor delivery.

4)If it is case of after delivery, make sure that QM is active for movememnt type 601(in case of delivery against sales order) or 641( in case of STO)

Dear all,

Thank you for your promt reply.

I did following exercise.

Activated inspection type 10 in mat master along with tasklist ticked.

Entered inspection type against delivery type

Created customer inforecord and selected inspection before delivery button.

I created sales order and did outbound delivery and saved.System generated inspection lot.

But no stock updated in Quality stock.It was updated in unrestricted stock only.Why?

Is there any config, so that once we save the delivery stock should update in Quality stock.

After doing UD  only PGI should be possible.

Pls suggest.

Hi Venkat,

Inspection type 10 is  Goods issue inspections and not relevant to stock type. As a std SAP you cannot achieve this. Stock posting is not possible. You try to convince client as it stops PGI to happen if Inspection lot is not cleared. Unless you carry out result recording against this lot, PGI is not possible.

10,11,12 inspection types area not stock relevant. so stock will never updated in quality stock. If you have this type of requirement Why not you use 04 inspection type.???

At the time of production confirmation of that mateial , it will go to the inspection stock.

With inspection type 10, and "before delivery" selected the PGI will be blocked until the UD is accepted.  That is the whole point of the type 10 inspection.

You don't see the stock in quality because the stock is already committed and assigned to a delivery and will show in the stock category of "Schd. for Delivery" I believe.

Hi Venkat,

You have to configure for which Delivery Type you want to create inspection lot with type-10.

Goto SPRO --> QM --> Quality Insp --> Insp Lot Creation --> inspection at shipping --> Assign Inspection Lot Origin to Delivery Type.-

If you want to make UD before PGI or after PGI;  those settings you can you can mention in Q-Info Record: SD with material and customer combination. (Txn code: QV51)

After maintaining these settings, create inspection plan with the relevant Task list usage (6 ).

Then you will get the inspection lot generated
