Hello All,
I have the requirement to replicate the ECC Datasource to SAP HANA.
We have SLT in place.
Any pointer on this will be really helpful.
Regards,
Neha
Hi Neha,
From HANA 1.0 SPS 04 you can use the new DXC (SAP HANA Direct Extractor Connection) to extract data using DataSources. When you use it, data are extracted using DataSources and flow to an In-Memory DataStore Object (IMDSO in HANA - don't make confustion with In-Memory DSO created in Bw on HANA). You still have to setup infopackages, process chain, etc in the source system (SAP ERP has a embebbed BW in it, so you don't need a standalone BW).
And of course, this is not real time, but batch job driven. Using this scenario you don't need SLT neither DataServices.

Hi Neha,
We can not replicate Data Sources delievered for BI into SAP HANA using SLT. using SLT, we can replicate the tables from ECC to HANA.
If you want Datasource, then it can be possible in two ways.
1) Replicate the tables which feeds that DS into HANA and create view same DS structure.
or
2) Loading data from ECC DS into HANA is possible with BODS. here also we have restictions that DS entry should present in table ROOSATTR.

Hi Neha
You mean the BI Datasource which we access using RSA6 or any table ,because replicating data via SLT into HANA you have already done I believe , so I just wanted to understand the Datasource in this context ,also I never came across replicating BI datasource to HANA using SLT, as per I know it is possible with BODS .Awaiting your feedbcak
Thanks
Santosh
