Update dimension that is BPF driver dim

Hi Forum helpers,

I have an issue where we have created an BPF that is fully instantiated on a driver dimension that needs to be updated periodically.  We are getting an error that says, "BPF: NODE_2000CANADA of dimension PROFIT_CENTER is used as member item in step below:

            --> [Template] xxxx

          -->  [Step]  xxx"

We are not allowed to update the member while it is part of a BPF instance. 

What is the best method to manage a dimension that needs to be updated and also have the BPFs persist?

What kind of updates are you trying to do in the dimension?

Good morning Nilanjan,

We are still in development phase so we'd like to update the hierarchy with prefixes to the existing Profit Center base members.  The BPFs created do not allow any updates to the dimension at all.  Is there a way to disable the BPFs, update the dimension members, update the BPFs, then re-instantiate?

I'd rather not have to delete all BPFs whenever we have to refresh a dimension table.

What is teh best method to manage this?

Hi Matt,

I am afraid you will have to archive the BPF instances from the option 'Manage BPF Instance' and then try to make changes in the dimensions. You don't have to delete the BPF template for this.
