Question regarding Delta

Hi Experts

I have one doubt

Suppose we are creating report using 2 infocubes say 0PUR_C01(uses data source 2lis_02_itm and 2lis_02_scl) and 0PUR_C04(uses datasource 2lis_02_hdr and 2lis_02_scl) .

Now my question is

Since  both the cube uses the same datasource 2LIS_02_SCl and both are loaded with data for the first time using full load. Now when it comes to delta suppose the cube 0PUR_C01 is scheduled first and it takes the delta form the BW delta queue and now the delta queue is empty.

Now when it come to cube 0PUR_C04 there is no deltas in delta queue as the first cube successful delta load results in emptying the delta queue ??

Any replies would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

What suman speaks about fits for BW 3.X.

In the case of 7X delta are target dependent and not on source dependent.

3.X -- Delta is based on datasource

7.X -- Delta is based on target(Because of the presence of the DTP)

Hi,

Data comes to PSA when you run the delta. Until you run both the DTP's the "update status" will not be set to green for the delta request in the PSA. This is my assumption its better you try and find.

Yes.

You create transformations from the the datasource into each of your data targets (0PUR_C01 and 0PUR_C04). Then you create a DTP each, these will have to be set up with extraction mode DELTA.

The delta status is managed on the level of each DTP individually.

So to summarize you will have a DELTA Infopackage that delivers the data from your source system into BW. And then you have DTPs again with DELTA extraction mode to distribute the data further within BW into as many data targets as you like.

In case of BI7

with Infopacakge you can bring the data till PSA level only after that u need delta DTP so it will fetch or take the data to respective Infoprovider..

so u need to have 2 DTP s for two Infoproviders.

Hi,

In your Delta Infopackage -->Processing Tab-->PSA and then into Targets. -->Select both targets in Target Tab

So Delta will get uploaded into both Cubes.

But this option will be available only in 3.5 verison if I am not wrong. What about BI 7.x versions ? The option PSA and then to Targets and others except ONLY PSA are disabled so we cannot select this.

Any other clue ?
