ip vs dtp

Hi Experts,

I am working on BI 7.0 in Development and we're going live this weekend.

I have configured as below while doing the lo extraction.

1. Initialize Delta (with Data Transfer)

2. Delta in InfoPackage &

3. Delta in DTP to update DSO and InfoCube.

Is it necessary to have Delta in DTP or can I actually have Full Update in DTP since it is doing Deltas already in InfoPackage?

    Hi Sai,

    1) If the DTP loads to DSO, then ofcourse you can use Full DTP instead of delta. But best practice is keeping delta in DTP. So that it will loads the PSA requests only once.

    2) If the DTP loads to Infocube, and if PSA retention period is 0 days, then you can go with FULL DTP instead of delta. Or else, key figures will be doubled/tripled in infocube due to multiple loading of same PSA requests.

    Suggestion:

Whatever data target it is(DSO/Infocube), whatever infopackage it is(Delta/FULL), best practise should be DTP with DELTA.

Always keep PSA retention period as 7 days or whatever.

Just go with Delta DTP for better load performance and no double data risk.

    Cheers 😊

    Regards,

    Karthick.

    Hi

You have to use Delta DTP, other you will get all the data if you run Full DTP. This settings are specific to one source and one target.

If you have delta to the before target, then you can not run full from that target to another one.

    Venkatesh.

    Hello,

Use Delta DTP to load from DSO to Infocube. Full load will lead into poor data load performance as well as increase in infocube size.

    HI sudhir,

If u trigger the DTP with full load then all the request in the PSA will be upated to the infocube . that leads to data repetition. So it's better to create the delta DTP and then trigger the DTP.

    Hope u got it,

    Thanx & Regards

    Hi

You must use Delta DTP because if you use Full DTP then it will load all request in PSA and also applicable for DSO. For first request you not find any data issue but next requests onwards it will creates data issue.
