error in syntex, but cursor not working

Hi Friends,

facing issue and want to know is it with me or its the way dependency editor behave.

i am writing a dependecny with below syntex

000010 $SELF.SELECT = $SELF.CHAR1 if

but getting error,

Error: remaining part of expression cannot be interpreted

Message no. 28021

The syntax check could not interpret part of your entry.

System Response

The cursor shows the start of the expression that could not be interpreted.

my question/expectation is cursor should point out at the position where the issue is, but its selecting whoole text in first line of syntex

"$SELF.SELECT = $SELF.CHAR1 if" and generating error.

appriciate your replies.

    Hi Ritesh,

I tried the dependency (procedure) with similar code and left some errors intentionally. It pointed out the whole line instead of just the text. I think that is the way SAP behaves.

Having said that I dont find any problem in your syntax, may be some of the characteristics are not available in the system.

I just tried with a special character ? after the characteristic. I also tried with ! and I could replicate the same error. So I suggest you to check if you have some special characters which are not allowed in a dependency.
