how and when do we load master data attibutes/text from R3 ?

how do we load master data attibutes/text from R3.? i have installed MM and SD cubes from business content but i haven't seen master data att/text datasources in the flow.consultants in production support run master data and transaction data separately. My question is we have master data attr/txt datasources in RSA5 but when do we actually load them ? because i haven't found any attr/txt datasources while installing MM and SD infocubes in business content.

Hi Dinesh,

It depends on what characteristics you have in the Info Cubes.

Now lets take example of Info Cube : 0SD_C01

In this Info Cube We have below characteristics:

0DISTR_CHAN

0DIVISION

0MATERIAL

0SALESORG

0SOLD_TO

0VERSION

0VTYPE

Now from above we can identify that we have to load master data for 0MATERIAL.

In the same way we need to find out other characteristics are main one's or attributes for any other characteristics. If they are attributes then we need to load master data fro main charcteristics.

After you are done with master data loading then load the transaction data to this Info Cube. Otherwise loads will get fail.

I have installed 0PUR_C05 (vendor evaluation data) . I got the transactional data. I have other navigational attributes like

0vendor_0industry

0vendor_0country

0vendor_0region

0vendor_0bpartner

etc.

why do i dont see these fields in the display data of infocube. How do i load data into these infoobjects?

which datasource should i use to load data into these infoobjects ?

Hi

Normally we load masters before loading transaction data i.e. when you load transaction data it may contains all char like materils plants and customers, vendors....etc but in transaction data you can able to see only numbers/Key for them if business wants to understand reports properly then we need to load Matreial Text/Attr so that they can able to see material name and other details as attributes.

It is separate task we need to do like transactiond data we need to install DS and then connect to info objects.

Dinesh,

You need to load data to 0VENDOR Infoobject data target, for this target datasource are 0VENDOR_ATTR  and 0VENDOR_TEXT.

At Infoobject level, make sure that your required attributes like Industry,Country,Region.....are attribute to 0vendor Infoobject or not .

In the same remaining Master datas like 0MATERIAL, 0CUSTOMER, etc.....to know for which infoobjects you have to load master data, check your Infoobjects in the Incofube.
